Using mesh for slings still considered safe & effective.

The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) & Society for Urodynamics & Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) released a joint statement today reaffirming the safety & effectiveness of midurethral slings using permanent mesh.

The statement is a good overview of the large amount of clinical data establishing the safety of mesh slings which remain the “Gold Standard” for treating urinary incontinence effectively & safely.
