Dr. “Theo” has completed advanced fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He, along with Dr Howden, is among the first group of specialists Board Certified in this new subspecialty in 2013. His areas of expertise include urinary & bowel control, prolapse of the uterus & vagina, & pelvic floor dysfunction with a full range diagnostic services, nonsurgical, & advanced minimally-invasive surgical management options.
Dr Theofrastous has extensive experience with designing & performing clinical research, & has many publications in peer-reviewed journals & text books. He regularly reviews papers which have been submitted for publication in scientific journals.
Dr Theofrastous is a Clinical Professor at UNC Chapel Hill , & he continues to provide educational services for residents & medical students.
